phd-ing at the university of leeds

Hiya! I’m Charlotte and I’m a PhD student based in the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds. My current research is particularly interested in the entanglements of affect, data, and space within the everyday, (hyper-)mediated environment, and asking questions about a lived, embodied, and negotiated subjectivity which are underpinned by a wider set of long-standing feminist concerns of structure and of agency. I’m funded by the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures, where I work as an Enhancement Advisor, supporting projects at a Faculty level.

In addition to my academic-related work, I have also worked with Sport England, Youth Sport Trust, Swim England, England Netball and the LTA in various advisory and consultancy capacities focusing especially on the inclusion of young people and otherwise minoritised groups in governance. I am a former member of Swim England’s Youth Advisory Panel Leadership Team and founding member of the Cross-Sport Youth Leadership Team.

If you would like to get in touch or have a work-related enquiry, please send me an email. You can also find me on twitter and mastodon.
